Pioneering Legacy

Heritage Foundation established India’s first Home Healthcare service in 1995. At a time when such services were unavailable, we trained Bedside Assistants in Hyderabad and supported families in need, with manpower support from Kottayam’s Red Cross. This pioneering initiative laid the foundation for elder care services in the country.

Policy Advocacy

Being a recognised Regional Resource and Training Centre under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, we actively engage with government agencies to shape elderly care policies. Our work involves advocating for comprehensive support through initiatives, ensuring health care, protection against abuse, and financial security.

Capacity Building

Specialising in elevating the quality of care in old age homes across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu, we develop targeted training programmes to meet ddemand for functionaries of old age homes and day care centres. Through these efforts, we build comprehensive knowledge on geriatric care, counselling, and ethical service delivery.

Community Outreach

Partnering with prestigious institutions like Bharathidasan University, Central University of Kerala, and Madras School of Social Work, we enhance gerontology education. We contribute to training, research, and knowledge exchange in the field of ageing and elder care.

Community Collaborations

Partnering with top universities, we enhance gerontology and geriatric care education. We merge academic insights with real-world applications for profound elder care.

Information Dissemination

Empowering families and caregivers through comprehensive resources, we implement various initiatives, including publishing newsletters, organising webinars, and creating platforms. These efforts connect seniors, caregivers, and professionals in the field of geriatric care.

Regional Resource and Training Centre

The Heritage Foundation serves as a Regional Resource and Training Centre for Telangana, Andhra Pradesh (since 2023), and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. From 2016 to 2022, we also served Tamil Nadu. Our signature three-day training programmes offer intensive learning for staff of old age homes and day care centres, covering critical aspects of senior citizen care. We collaborate with leading universities and national institutions to develop innovative approaches to eldercare professional development.

Our Happenings

Since 1997, Heritage Foundation has been actively associated with the Old Age Care Division of the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD)—the Government of India’s premier institute for social defence training and research. Together, we’ve championed awareness, training, and capacity-building initiatives across Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh, reaching thousands of students and caregivers.
