Protecting Values, Enriching Lives: Our Mission Unveiled

Pioneering Legacy

We were the first to establish Home Healthcare in the country in 1995—when nothing existed. With manpower support from Kottayam’s Red Cross, we trained Bedside Assistants in Hyderabad and made them available to families in need. This groundbreaking effort laid the foundation for structured home-based eldercare services in India.

Policy Advocacy

Engaging in active collaboration with national and state governments in India to develop meaningful policies for elder care. Dr. Gangadharan has played a crucial role in shaping legislative discussions and policy formulation to ensure the rights and dignity of senior citizens. We conduct ongoing dialogue with policymakers to make systemic changes that improve healthcare, social security, and the overall quality of life for our elderly community.

Capacity Building

Monitoring and enhancing the quality of government-funded old age homes as the designated Regional Resource and Training Centre (RRTC) by the Indian government. Currently overseeing facilities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, we implement comprehensive training programmes for caregivers, administrators, and healthcare professionals. Our focus is on improving operational efficiency, resident well-being, and adherence to best practices.

Community Outreach

Fostering intergenerational understanding and awareness about the challenges and contributions of senior citizens through our outreach programmes in schools, colleges, and community spaces. We organise workshops, conferences, and dynamic events—such as an annual flagship event on the International Day of Older Persons—to inspire meaningful discussions about ageing and society’s responsibilities towards senior citizens.

Collaboration With Universities

Igniting academic interest in elder care, supporting student training, and encouraging innovation in ageing-related healthcare and social work. Through strategic partnerships with universities, particularly in South India, we drive research, education, and training in gerontology and geriatric care. Our collaboration seamlessly integrates academic research with real-world elder care needs, bridging the gap between theory and practice to create effective solutions.

Information Dissemination

Serving as a trusted resource hub for all information related to ageing, we offer guidance, research materials, and direct connections to geriatric specialists, including doctors, psychologists, and social workers. Through our initiatives, we aim to support caregivers, their families, and institutions by giving them access to credible information, networking opportunities, and best practices. Our plans include the development of forums and digital platforms for knowledge sharing and assistance.

International Engagement

Enabling a global reach through Dr. Gangadharan’s active participation in global discussions on ageing. His involvement with international organisations such as the International Federation on Ageing and impressive presentations at prestigious platforms like the United Nations and the White House reinforce our global commitment to elder care. We bring enriching insights back to India by engaging in international dialogues while also contributing to the global discourse on ageing policies, rights, and best practices.

Strengthening Care and Community

Fortifying the elderly care ecosystems by registering professionals like counsellors, psychologists, geriatricians, and MSW graduates for linguistically customised referrals. We invite home care agencies to enhance services. Our initiatives drive bed, oxygen unit, and wheelchair donations, ensuring they reach the homes of those who need them most. Our partnerships with Lions and Rotary Clubs have enabled us to raise awareness through events. We also collaborate with institutions in social work, nursing, physiotherapy, and psychology to deliver training.

Regional Resource and Training Centre

Being the designated RRTC for Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, we serve as a vital hub for elder care excellence. For over two decades, we've collaborated with the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) to develop and implement specialised training programmes on geriatric care, dementia management, and elder rights. Our centre bridges the gap between policy and practice by equipping caregivers with essential skills while advocating for improved standards in institutional elder care across the region.
